BACKGROUND
The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM) seeks a bioinformatics leader to join the faculty at the All Children's Hospital Campus in St. Petersburg, FL. All Children's Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a 259-bed specialty children's hospital with busy neonatal, critical care, surgery/neurosurgery, medical units and 11 outpatient centers throughout southwest Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This full time position includes engaging in interdisciplinary, translational science, education, and clinical medicine, along with the opportunity to develop a self-directed line of investigation. The individual in this position will provide key content expertise to inform a collaborative vision among hospital and academic leaders for the role of bioinformatics in clinical quality & safety, research, and education (and their synergies), and to take responsibility for executing this vision.
REQUIREMENTS
Interested individuals must have interest, knowledge and experience in pediatrics and a strong background in data analysis, data/systems modeling, data warehousing and mining, and management and integration of large datasets. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate expertise with and understanding of I2B2 (Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside), an NIH-funded National Center for Biomedical Computing.

The successful candidate will work within a dynamic academic environment located in an expanding clinical campus within Johns Hopkins Medicine, and will liaise with Bioinformatics colleagues at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. These environments provide many opportunities to develop clinical, educational, and research interests. St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay region of Florida's Suncoast provide an outstanding setting in which to live.
