The Department of Genetics and Biochemistry at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track ASSISTANT PROFESSOR position to be filled by an innovative researcher whose academic and research interests complement our current program strengths.

We wish to hire the best and brightest contemporary plant scientists with particular interest in persons working in the areas of computational genetics, genomics, systems biology, or epigenetics. The successful candidate is expected to develop an extramurally funded research program, participate in graduate student training programs, and contribute to teaching of undergraduate and graduate courses.

A competitive salary commensurate with background and experience, state-of-the-art lab space, 17,000+ core computer access, start-up funds, and a benefits package are included.

The Department, housed in the Biosystems Research Complex and new Life Science Facility, offers B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Genetics and in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. Current research foci address fundamental questions in life processes in microbial, plant and mammalian systems using molecular, biochemical, computational and genomics approaches. The Department provides a first-rate environment for engaging students and colleagues in collaborative research and teaching efforts spanning genetics and biochemistry. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in genetics, biochemistry, genomics, bioinformatics, or a related discipline with a minimum of two years of postdoctoral training.

Pay & Work Schedule:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Salary is commensurate with experience and credentials.
