    Opportunity: Senior IT Systems Engineer @ CeMM - Research Center for Molecular Medicine -- Vienna, Austria

    SUMMARY

    We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer with strong interest in HPC, experience in deploying and configuring complex open source packages and in managing Cluster schedulers. Solid background in UNIX, Linux, scripting and parallel File systems is mandatory.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project: Support of scientific computing cluster

    Environment: Supermicro SYS-F627G2-F73+, Sandy Bridge based Xeon cpu's 256 cores, 4 TB RAM, FDR Infiniband interconnect, SAS connected FhgFs 4 Fileservers 1 Metadata Server 380 TB net capacity, FC attached SAN 108 TB net capacity. Expected growth of 100 % per year!

    The main tasks on the cluster are related to genome-wide proteomics, human genome next generation sequencing, and large-scale statistical modeling and requires the interaction with several groups at CeMM including Michael Pilz (CeMM IT), Jacques Colinge (Bioinformatics, Computational Proteomics) and Christoph Bock (Bioinformatics, Epigenomics).

    REQUIREMENTS

    • This position requires a BS degree in EE/CS or 5 years or more of hands-on experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Knowledge of Frauenhofer Parallel File system (FhgFs), Bright Cluster Manager and SLURM job scheduler would be an advantage.

    COMPENSATION

    Salary: 3.400-3.750 EUR gross (14 x per year), depending on qualification and experience.
