BACKGROUND

We are hiring for a senior bioinformatics role at an exciting stealth Silicon Valley startup, operating at the intersection of big data and genomics. This early-stage role allows entrepreneurial talent to shape and grow the computational biology needs of the company. The company is well-funded and growing rapidly.

REQUIREMENTS

Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or equivalent
Extensive experience with NGS technologies, sequence analysis tools, and public biological databases
Strong scripting skills in one or more of: Python, Perl, Ruby, Unix/Linux shell
Solid understanding of statistical analysis and bioinformatics algorithms
Strong skills in C++, object-oriented design and cloud-computing is strong plus.
Highly self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Startup interest and/or experience a plus
