    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Designs and monitors biomedical research projects and assumes primary responsibility for the analysis and presentation of project data
    • Designs federated database solutions in Molecular Biology; implements and maintains such designs, analyzes and reports data, incorporates life sciences ontology or vocabularies into data semantics and designs computational tools for data exchange that incorporates data ontology
    • Collaborates with biomedical investigators and assists in developing objectives, designing sampling, randomization and data collection procedures to achieve study objectives
    • Prepares analysis plans and writes detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures; communicates with clients and international colleagues regarding statistical analysis issues
    • Collaborates with clinic and other personnel, including analyst/programmers in monitoring and assessing data quality
    • Analyzes data and prepares tables for interim and final reports; assists in the development of a user-friendly integrated biology database
    • Writes results section of reports or publications
    • Provides direction and guidance to support personnel
    • Design federated approaches to search across and access multiple databases
    • Applies advanced bioinformatics, statistical, and computational techniques
    • Leads microarray and next generation sequencing-based analysis of animal models of vaccination while integrating data from human subjects

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's Degree
    • Major (if required): Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Systems Biology
    Required Experience:
    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in microarray, epigenetic and RNA sequencing bioinformatics analysis
    • Experience developing and creating new bioinformatics analysis techniques
    • Experience in immune pathway and gene expression analysis

    PREFERENCES

    Knowledge and experience in both SQL and NOSQL database management systems.
