California State University, San Bernardino is a comprehensive regional university that serves approximately 20,700 students and offers 47 undergraduate, 35 graduate, one doctoral degree and 13 academic programs with national accreditation. CSUSB actively encourages qualified candidates to apply who demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student population as well as a commitment to maintaining a respectful and inclusive work environment. We strongly encourage women and members of other historically underrepresented groups to apply.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will also teach core and elective courses in computer science and actively contribute to the school's curriculum development. The successful candidate will maintain a robust research agenda, pursue external research funding, supervise student research, and perform academic advising and mentoring. The successful candidate will also provide service to the School, the College, the University, as well as the community and the profession.

    REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Bioinformatics or a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in Computer Science specializing in Bioinformatics. ABO candidates may be considered; the doctoral degree is required at the time of appointment.

We are particularly interested in candidates with strengths in the application of computer science and mathematics in the analysis and interpretation of biological data, and the formal algorithms, both proven or heuristic, required for bioinformatics.
