REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate would have the following qualifications:

A Ph. D. or M. Sc. in life sciences with a broad knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry
2+ years of scientific data curation experience in one of the following areas: Metabolic pathways, Signal transduction pathways, Gene expression & regulation, Protein-Protein interactions
Well-versed with public domain databases like NCBI, Uniprot, Ensembl, Bind etc.
Highly skilled in reading, analyzing and assessing the scientific literature, to characterize the hidden biological data
Ability to write structured parsers using perl or python, and possess sound knowledge of SQL writing / querying
Excellent analytical and communication skills
