    Opportunity: BIOLOGICAL CURATOR/ANNOTATER--Chennai, India

    GeneMines, Chennai, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced candidate, specialized in Biological Curation & Annotation services to join our ongoing research team.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The successful candidate would have the following qualifications:
    • A Ph. D. or M. Sc. in life sciences with a broad knowledge of molecular biology and biochemistry
    • 2+ years of scientific data curation experience in one of the following areas: Metabolic pathways, Signal transduction pathways, Gene expression & regulation, Protein-Protein interactions
    • Well-versed with public domain databases like NCBI, Uniprot, Ensembl, Bind etc.
    • Highly skilled in reading, analyzing and assessing the scientific literature, to characterize the hidden biological data
    • Ability to write structured parsers using perl or python, and possess sound knowledge of SQL writing / querying
    • Excellent analytical and communication skills
