Submitted by Susan Becker; posted on Thursday, March 29, 2007
Every day you’re looking for new information, new challenges and new ways to do your job better. It’s not just about providing information or advancing your career. It's about improving who you are as a person. And that kind of drive needs to be celebrated. Stanford Hospital and Clinics seeks a professional who can create a real name in the field.

In this highly specialized opportunity, you will have a chance to make a meaningful contribution by providing leadership and coordination for the statistical reporting and data management of the Quality Improvement Department. You will be responsible for the design methodology, statistical analysis and presentation of QI measurement activities, development of information databases for identified study areas and benchmarking opportunities, and data integrity and security. Data will be collected from multiple sources encompassing a broad range of topics, including clinical case review, clinical research, disease state management initiatives, satisfaction surveys and utilization and outcome measures. Additionally, you must be familiar with practice pattern variation and integrating cost as a variable and be able to develop effective, high quality analyses and reports.

We require a Master's degree in Statistics or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education/experience. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in data analysis, excellent communication, organization, prioritizing, analytical, critical thinking and PC (statistical and database software) skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team are required. Must have knowledge of mathematical, statistical and operational research tools in order to produce valid reports, appropriate sampling methods, healthcare practices/principles, and techniques in data design and data management using PC and mainframe systems.
