Education: New Bioinformatics/Cheminformatics courses
Submitted by Andreas Bender; posted on Monday, July 09, 2007
LOCALE: IBAB, Bangalore, India
DATES: 18 months starting November 2007
The renowned Institute for Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) Bangalore is currently recruiting very qualified students for their Postgraduate Diploma courses in Bioinformatics, Biotechniques, and - for the first time in its history - also for the newly started course in Cheminformatics!
While bioinformatics analyzes sequence data, cheminformatics analyzes molecular data, an area rapidly gaining importance in pharmaceutical industry. Thus, the AstraZeneca Research Foundation India recognized the importance of this area and enabled IBAB to establish a new PG Diploma in Cheminformatics.
Courses are of 18 months length, consisting of a 6 months industry internship in the third term. IBAB is particularly proud of having found industrial positions for >90% of their alumni in their desired area.
The next batch of students will start in November 2007 with a deadline for applications on the 1st of September 2007.
