    Opportunity: PhD Scientist, BIOINFORMATICS Job @ Schering-Plough--Singapore

    BACKGROUND:
    Schering-Plough is establishing a Translational Research Laboratory (TRL) in the Biopolis in Singapore. The focus of the TRL will be on the discovery and development of biomarkers and imaging technologies as an integral part of the drug development process, in support of Schering-Ploughs global research efforts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The successful candidate will set up and execute Bioinformatics as part of the Molecular Profiling section. He/She will generate experimental designs, statistically analyze data obtained from genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics studies, and translate the findings to facilitate biological interpretation. The role will include close interaction with Global Informatics colleagues within SPRI, representing the TRL.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Education: Minimal education required for this job Ph.D.

    Skills: Ph.D. in Bioinformatics or a related Life Science discipline with a minimum of 3 years post PhD experience and a proven track record in applied bioinformatics analysis of gene expression microarray and mass spectrometry data, including pathway analyses.
