BACKGROUND
CBM - Cluster in Biomedicine wishes to recruit a Bioinformatics Scientist to perform the analysis of genomics and imaging data as part of an FP7 approved Industry-Academia Partnership Program focused on imaging and genomics of allergic asthma animal models (http://www.p3agi.eu).
RESPONSIBILITIES
Within this project, the new recruit will:
- Oversee the overall scientific progress of the project, ensuring that transfer of knowledge activities are achieved and integrated.
- Implement a bioinformatics analysis platform to store, manage and analyze genomics and imaging data.
- Identify novel biomarkers using genomics data and analyze in vivo data obtained using optical imaging technologies.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for the analysis, integration and presentation of gene expression and imaging data. More specifically the technologies to be used in the project focus on:
- Expression profiling data from microarray (Affymetrix and Illumina).
- Expression profiling data from next generation sequencing (Solexa).
- Analysis of optical imaging data on tissue samples.
- Data integration.
