    Opportunity: BIOINFORMATICS Analyst I & II @ National Jewish Health--Denver, CO (US)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    National Jewish Health located in Denver, Colorado is seeking Bioinformatics professionals for our Center for Genetics and Theapeutics. These genetics/genomics positions will provide bioinformatics support to the Center for Genes, Environment, and Health, as well as other scientists that are collaborating with the Center. Participate in programming and data processing to support the analysis of next generation sequencing, whole genome association (GWAS) and microarray data generated by projects aimed at understanding epigenetic regulation in asthma, genetics of pulmonary fibrosis and innate immunity.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience using bioinformatics to solve biologically important questions. Experience in high-throughput data analysis and familiarity with widely used genomic databases and software. Must have a background in utility programming (C Shell, Perl, BioPerl, JAVA, and other languages) in a Linux environment, as well as familiarity with designing, developing, and programming databases (Oracle, MySQL). Must be able to work well independently and demonstrate proficient problem solving, excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.

    Level I Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and/or life sciences required. Masters of Science degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, computer science and/or life sciences preferred. Zero (0) to two (2) years of recent and related experience required.

    Level II Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and/or life sciences required. Masters of Science degree or PhD in Bioinformatics, computer science and/or life sciences preferred. A minimum of three (3) to four (4) years of recent and related experience required.
