Opportunity: BIOINFORMATICIAN/Software Developer @ Nonlinear Dynamics--Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

BACKGROUND:
Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd has been developing proteomics data analysis software since 1989. Our UK head office is situated in a prime location on the busy Quayside in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Bioinformatician with experience in software development and biostatistics to join our development team based in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will help design, develop, enhance, test and implement our desktop applications. You will also liaise with our sales and marketing teams and customers throughout the application lifecycle.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in a related field (Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics).
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to proteomic data analysis problems using a combination of statistical modelling, data modelling and analysis and mathematical modelling.
- Experience of statistical aspects of biological study design.
- Solid understanding of object-orientated programming in C#, C++ or Java.
- Ability to work effectively within a development team.
PREFERENCES:
- Proficiency in .NET C#.
- Ability to communicate statistical concepts.
- Knowledge of 2D gel electrophoresis, LC-MS or MALDI techniques.
- Agile development process experience.
TERMS: Full time, permanent
LOCALE:
Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom
SALARY & BENEFITS:
25000-35000 GBP pa dependent on experience
