    Opportunity: RNA BIOINFORMATICS Research Fellow @ University of Otago--Dunedin, New Zealand

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Applications are invited for a full-time, grant-funded Assistant Research Fellow or Research Fellow for a period of up to three years to work on the "in search of conserved mRNA localisation and anchoring mechanisms" project (see [link] for more information). The appointee will be part of a team located in the Department of Biochemistry, Dunedin, New Zealand.

    The appointee will use advanced bioinformatic techniques to discover regulatory elements in a range of genomes. The project is funded by the Human Frontier Science Program (Strasbourg) for three years. It is a collaboration between Dr Chris Brown’s group in Dunedin and groups in Basel (Switzerland) and Vermont (USA). The research will require interaction with the international partners and some international travel.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    A BSc, BSc (Hons), MSc or PhD in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Genetics or a related discipline is required. Postdoctoral research fellows (post-docs) are welcome to apply. Advanced training to balance the skills of the applicant may be provided.

    TERMS:
    The position is for up to three years, but suitable applicants wanting to be employed for a shorter time in NZ may apply. Commencement date is by negotiation with the successful applicant.
