    BACKGROUND

    A position is available for computational scientist with five years experience in algorithms development at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned research and educational institution with innovative research programs in cancer, neuroscience, plant biology and quantitative biology.     REQUIREMENTS

    • Background should include solid training in statistics and programming in C/C++.
    • Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written) and the ability to work in multi-discipline scientific team are essential.
    • Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Informatics, or equivalent industry required.

    PREFERENCES

    Desirable but not essential to have experience in: mapping of DNA and RNA sequences, analysis of nucleic acid sequences for biological features, and experience with large sequence databases.
