Tim O' Reilly (of O' Reilly & Associates [1]) has published a letter entitled "In response to Paul Allen's question at Davos about data hoarding in science"[2]. In it he presents some interesting and provocative discussion with a focus on bioinformatics and Open Source. Definitely worth a look!
