RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead team of SAS programmers and provide data provisioning support for the Discovery Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology (DMCP) department. This will primarily involve the preparation and cleaning of pharmacokinetic (PK) and Spotfire exploratory analysis datasets from multiple data sources such as Watson LIMS, Oracle Clinical (and/or other databases, file systems) by extracting and merging data using SQL and/or SAS.
- Lead business initiatives pertaining to exploratory analysis of clinical data and PK data cleaning activities
- Interface and build alignment across functional groups within and external to DMCP, including: Discovery Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Science & Operations, Clinical Biomarkers, Global Biometric Sciences, Global Development Operations, Exploratory Development Informatics
- Contribute to the review, update, and development of Work Instructions and SOPs that specify business rules pertaining to this role
- Support the evaluation and implementation of new software applications for the management, analysis, and reporting of clinical trial data
- Work independently with clinical study teams to provide operational and programming support to enable real-time data analysis
- Assist clinical teams in exploratory data analysis and preparation data summaries and figures of ad-hoc analyses
REQUIREMENTS
- Ph.D. or Masters degree in computer science, engineering, physical sciences, or statistics
- At least 5 years prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry with 1—2 years as a leader of function (or matrix) team, with the following skills and expertise:
- - Excellent interpersonal, managerial, and communication skills
- - Advanced programming skills in Oracle SQL and SAS (preferably SAS BASE and ADVANCED certified)
- - Ability to work in MS-WINDOWS and UNIX/LINUX computing environments
- - Understanding of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements and computer systems validation
PREFERENCES
- Knowledge of other programming languages (S-PLUS/R, Java, C/C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB, Perl, Python) is preferred.
- Familiarity and hands on experience with the following applications is highly desired: Oracle Clinical, SPOTFIRE, WATSON LIMS, KINETICA/EP2 SERIES, WINONLIN/PKS
- Knowledge and familiarity with modeling and simulation software and analyses is preferred.
