Opportunity: Senior Linux Administrator w/ NIH/NHGRI @ Digicon Corporation--Bethesda, MD (US)

BACKGROUND
Digicon Corporation, established in 1985, is a full-service Information Technology Integrator and Solutions Provider to both government and commercial customers. Digicon employs approximately 300 employees throughout the Washington metropolitan area, as well as several other major cities across the nation.
We are currently in search for a Senior Linux Administrator to work at our client site in Bethesda, MD. The work will be done at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Campus, and specifically for the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI). This is a full-time employee position with Digicon Corporation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with a programming team and other Linux Administrators in support of Bioinformatics projects at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), an Institute within the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
General administrative tasks, server installations, software and hardware installations, system upgrades/migrations, system updates, software and hardware troubleshooting, general user requests, product recommendations, etc. Responsible for maintaining system documentation. Occasional after-hours support may be required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires 3 to 5 years HANDS-ON experience in the following: RedHat/CentOS Linux, Administration, Installations, Upgrades and Patches.
- Strong Perl/Python skills
- Excellent user interface a must.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must; must speak fluent English.
- All candidates must be authorized to work in the US for any employer and able to pass a background check.
PREFERENCES
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- High Performance Clusters (HPC), Bioinformatics support, Apache, cfengine, NetApp experience desired.
