BACKGROUND

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, is seeking a Scientific Informatics Developer to provide programming support for cancer-related biomedical research in the Proteomics Shared Resource.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Work will include analysis of high-throughput mass spectrometry data, development of computational methods and user interface development.

REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in bioinformatics, applied mathematics, computer science, statistical analysis or related field with strong interest in biomedical research.
Must have proven skills in computational data analysis and programming experience with Unix/Linux operating system and one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, PERL, R, Matlab.
Some experience with protein or genomic data analysis, sequence analysis and/or development of relational databases and user interfaces preferred.
Understanding of biology and track record in biomedical or bioinformatics projects is a plus.
