    Opportunity: BIOINFORMATICS Developer (#604) @ Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory--Cold Spring Harbor, NY (US)

    BACKGROUND

    Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York, is seeking a Scientific Informatics Developer to provide programming support for cancer-related biomedical research in the Proteomics Shared Resource.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Work will include analysis of high-throughput mass spectrometry data, development of computational methods and user interface development.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Master's degree in bioinformatics, applied mathematics, computer science, statistical analysis or related field with strong interest in biomedical research.
    • Must have proven skills in computational data analysis and programming experience with Unix/Linux operating system and one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, PERL, R, Matlab.
    • Some experience with protein or genomic data analysis, sequence analysis and/or development of relational databases and user interfaces preferred.
    • Understanding of biology and track record in biomedical or bioinformatics projects is a plus.
