RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement the strategic US medical plan in support of efavirenz, addressing unmet medical needs. Lead the efavirenz global medical strategy and communications team to create, revise, and execute a global medical plan for efavirenz. Lead the design, review, execution, and analysis of post-marketing clinical trials for efavirenz. Provide assessment and interpretation of trial results, including abstract and manuscript preparation and presentations. Evaluate new efavirenz safety information and determine its implications to clinical care. Liaise with other departments in R & D to ensure programs on efavirenz are aligned with US medical plan.
Align with joint venture counterparts to optimize data generation and communications efforts regarding efavirenz combination products. Provide medical input to US Regulatory and Pharmacovigilance activities with regards to efavirenz. Provide scientific input to BMS Virology Marketing to assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans for efavirenz. Provide oversight for scientific training to sales and medical personnel on efavirenz data. Coordinate medical interactions with thought leaders, clinical trial investigators, cooperative groups, academic centers and community-based trials consortia. Provide global medical leadership on mature virology products, including didanosine and stavudine.
REQUIREMENTS
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with 5 to 10 years experience in healthcare or related industry and in therapeutic area required.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and leadership skills to manage a cross-functional team required.
PREFERENCES
- Prior experience in the design and conduct of clinical trials, study report preparation, budgeting, regulatory obligations, adverse events reporting, people management, and joint venture management is highly desirable.
