    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Immunology Clinical Biomarkers group is a team of cellular and molecular biologists using state of the art methodologies to discover and implement biomarker strategies to support drug development in inflammatory diseases. Members of this team work on multifaceted projects in concert with both Pre-Clinical Discovery and Clinical Researchers to impact the organization at multiple levels of drug development.

    The responsibilities of this position will include leadership of the biomarker research projects within the Immunology Clinical Biomarkers group. This team is responsible for the synergistic application of multiple genomic and biochemical technology platforms for the identification and development of novel pharmacodynamic biomarkers, mechanistic biomarkers of inflammatory disorders and developing patient stratification strategies. In addition, they will coordinate collaborations and alliances with both internal and external research teams as well as implement state of the art biomarker discovery technologies and strategies.

    REQUIREMENTS

    We are seeking an Immunologist to serve as the team leader for the Immunology Clinical Biomarkers group at BMS.
    • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and collaborative individual with the ability to multitask and manage the performance of a team of five PhD and non-PhD scientists while working in a matrix organization.
    • Qualified candidates will have scientific expertise in a broad range of molecular profiling analysis methodologies and bioinformatics skills in gene data mining, interaction network construction, and pathway analysis.
    • They will also be well versed in comparative statistics and biomarker discovery technologies including microarray analysis, rtPCR, and assay development.
    • This position requires a Ph.D. or equivalent in Immunology or related field and a minimum of four years post-doctoral experience in molecular profiling or related field and 5 years pharmaceutical industry experience.
    • Previous experience in biomarker application in clinical trials,
    diagnostic systems, and informatics is also desired.
    • Proven experience managing a team of scientist is preferred.
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate scientific objectives and project results are expected.
