The University of Manchester's distance learning course in Biocomputing introduces Unix, Perl for data processing, and database design. As we begin at an introductory level, no prior programming experience is required. In the second part of the course students will implement a database design in MySQL.

This course, which is just one of our online Masters level courses in Digital Biology, will begin again in October. Our other courses include:
    • Bioinformatics for Systems Biology
    • Health Informatics
    • Computational Systems Biology
    • Introduction to software development in Java
You will find links to all of our online courses here: http://octette.cs.man.ac.uk/bioinformatics/modules/index.html.

    FOR MORE INFORMATION

If you have questions about any course, please contact the tutor named on the course information page. For general queries about the programme in Digital Biology, and to apply, please mail our office for Advanced Professional Education (ape[at]cs.man.ac.uk).
