    Opportunity: NCS - Senior Systems Writer/Editor (Training Specialist) (#1003) @ Social & Scientific Systems, Inc.--Silver Spring, MD (US)

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. is seeking a training specialist to support the Information Management System (IMS) contract for a large 5-year Federal project supporting the National Children's Study. The training specialist will be responsible for assisting the project team in the development of training approach, development and revision of training materials, curriculum and certification requirements related to implementation of survey data collections systems.

    Successful candidates must have experience in: 1) coordinating with project staff, other contractor staff, and Federal government clients to ensure a common framework for tracking data structure and system changes across large projects, and 2) training design and curriculum development for software systems implementation.

    Duties and responsibilities include:
    • Consults with senior project staff and clients to assess project training and document requirements. Recommends technical documentation approaches.
    • Designs, develops, coordinates and implements major training programs.
    • Recommends appropriate curriculum delivery modes, including self-paced, paper-based, computer-based, web-based, face-to-face, and blended e-learning environments.
    • Develops and implements course content from a variety of medium, including draft technical documents, software products, technical charts, and diagrams prepared by project staff.
    • Provides input into development of the Manual of Operations and Procedures (MOP) and revisions/updates to the MOP with a focus on translating complex technical instructions for users of the systems as a basis for training programs.
    • Edits materials, implements documentation software, and develops technically accurate reports and documents.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 8 years of professional experience in development of training approaches and curriculum with at least 4 years of experience in system documentation
    • Experience with Articulate Software, Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
    • Resourceful, self-motivated, and able to work collaboratively
