OVERVIEW

Social & Scientific Systems, Inc. (SSS), a company dedicated to improving public health around the world, is looking for an Application Programmer to support the Information Management System (IMS) contract, which is a large 5-year Federal project to support the National Children's Study (NCS).

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Application Programmer will be responsible for providing expertise for a large information management system and associated applications.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Writing requirements
Developing software from program specifications.
Testing and debugging program to meet specification.
Tracing test cases back to requirements
Developing time and effort estimates for implementing requirements
Writing technical documentation
Supporting end-users

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 4-6 years of related experience. Solid understanding of XML, .NET application development and SQL Server
Familiar with PHP and MySQL
Strong logical/critical thinking abilities, especially analyzing existing database layouts, application architectures, schemas and developing a good understanding of the application model
Strong technical writing skills and ability to document technical architectural solution, create detailed design, requirements document, and deployment plan
In addition, able to develop effective user interfaces, knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures of software development, strong time management skills including the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Survey and/or clinical trials experience a plus
