RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Description:
Incumbent will join the Bioinformatics Team at the CGF and will participate in large-scale sequencing projects including data management, sequence QC, alignment, coverage analysis, and variant identification. In addition, incumbent will be expected to develop tools and operate software pipelines to manage sequencing analysis tasks and deliverables to meet project's needs, and to perform these assignments independently with input and guidance from the supervisor. Progress on assignments will be reported on a regular basis and incumbent may be responsible for presenting data at meetings, conferences or other venues.
REQUIREMENTS
- Possession of a Bachelors degree in biomedical science/bioinformatics/math/computer related field from an accredited college or university or four (4) years related experience in lieu of degree. Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
- In addition to the education requirements, a minimum of two (2) years of competent, innovative data analysis or research in a related field is required.
- Experience managing complex programs or large production units are required.
- Must have extensive experience in human genetics.
- Must be able to perform analysis of genomic data relevant to large-scale sequencing studies.
- Experience in writing manuscripts and dissemination of data
- This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.
