Opportunity: Research Associate @ Case Western Reserve University -- Cleveland, OH (US)

OVERVIEW
The Center for Proteomics and Bioinformatics at Case Western Reserve University has a Research Associate position available. Successful candidates will have a MS or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, computer science, genetics, or other relevant fields, at least one year relevant experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Research Associate, the successful applicant will carry out bioinformatics research such as microarray and next gen sequencing (NGS) data analysis with a special emphasis on pathway and network analysis related to diseases. The RA should be familiar with the pipeline for microarray and NGS data process and have knowledge of those technologies. The knowledge of protein-protein interaction (PPI) network is highly desirable.
This position will participate in data analysis projects utilizing network modeling and pathway analysis techniques and apply them to investigate biological questions. The RA will have opportunities to be involved in a number of highly visible and productive NIH funded projects at the School of Medicine. The RA will conduct research for a variety of biological and clinical problems based upon the interests of the collaborating PIs. As a RA he/she will prepare manuscripts and contribute preliminary data, background and significance and experimental design for grant proposals. He/she will contribute to grant progress reports and final reports. He/she will present research findings at local, regional and national conferences.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical Skills:
- Programming and coding skill using modern program language, such as, C++/Java, perl, R, Matlab
- Knowledge of command line operation and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of genomics, proteomics, pathway and network analysis software
- Knowledge of -omics data management, integration and visualization
- Knowledge in statistics
- Knowledge of database administration
