About BioEdu	English (USA)
BioEdu is for discussions about bioinformatics education in general as well as the educational resources at Bioinformatics.Org (bioedu.org or edu.bioinformatics.org). We'll therefore accept (all of our major mailing lists are fully moderated) questions, announcements and discussions about anything related to bioinformatics education. These may include: 1. Questions from educators about developing a bioinformatics curriculum 2. Questions from (prospective) students about the availability and appropriateness of educational programs in the field On this note, we would like to mention Damian Counsell's famous FAQ, which lists many programs around the world and advises on entering the field and cross-training between allied disciplines. 3. Announcements about new courses and programs The one type of post that we really don't want (other than spam), is one that is related to a specific research or development topic that could be posted to another mailing list. Examples include, "How do I do X with Python?" and, "How do I find Y in a sequence?" While any question, announcement or discussion could have "educational value," we're actually trying to address education as a discipline or occupation, and all posts should be submitted with that in mind. Using BioEdu
To post a message to all the list members, send email to bioedu@bioinformatics.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to BioEdu
Subscribe to BioEdu by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
