I have worked on several bioinformatics projects and started the Bioinformatics Group at the University of Minnesota (http://www.umn.edu/~biogroup). My current research interests are microbiology/virology and bioinformatics. My undergraduate work was on the RNA secondary structure of Coxsackievirus B1 in the lab of Dr. Patty Tam.

wdlin received a M.S. degree (Computer Science and Information Engineering) in 2000 and a Ph.D. degree in (Applied Mathematics) in 2003 (National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan). He then joined the Institute of Information Science (IIS), Academia Sinica, Taiwan, as a postdoctoral fellow (till now). In IIS, he is a member of the Bioinformatics group in the Computer Systems and Communication Lab. His research interests include discrete mathematics, algorithms, group testing and bioinformatics.

Large scale genome Visualization methods: I have invented two visualization methods DHPC and BSDT for large-scale genome sequence. Once I was a baby, then gradually got to know something. After a while I got a chance to learn things in paleontolgoy. Interested or not, I learned some more. In the pursuit of ultimate systematics, I decided to learn molecular biology. Mathematics and computing seem to be natural to me, and have been the extracurricula.
