Topic: htmLawed - minor request from a packager

Hi,

I plan to propose htmLawed RPM to be included in Fedora and EPEL repository.

So I have some minor request to make this possible / simpler

1/ permanent link.

I can't found a permanent link to version 1.1.11 (only to old ones)

The .../downloads/htmLawed.zip is a permanent link to current version which cannot be used for packaging (need a permanent URL to packaged version)

So please add htmLawed-1.1.11.zip (or htmLawed1111.zip which seems the usage) on the download directory.

2/ LICENSE

Please include a LICENSE file (or 2, one for LGPL, one for GPL) in the archive.
See : http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/LicensingGuidelines#License_Text

Re: htmLawed - minor request from a packager

Should I copy texts of the GNU LGPL3 and GPL2 licenses and put them together in the LICENSE file? Or can I just have the following text or something similar in the LICENSE file:

'htmLawed is dual licensed under the GNU LGPL license version 3 and GPL license version 2 or later. See http://www.gnu.org/licenses/ for terms of these license.'

Re: htmLawed - minor request from a packager

Please add a full copy of LGPL3 and GPL2, probably in 2 text files, for example
LICENSE-GPL
LICENSE-LGPL

Please also clarify if license is
(LGPL license version 3 and GPL license version 2) or later
or
LGPL license version 3 and (GPL license version 2 or later)

I mean, does "or later" apply to GPL only or to both.

P.S. sorry for the long reply delay (it seems no notification are sent)

Re: htmLawed - minor request from a packager

I have added the two license files (named LICENSE-GPL2 and LICENSE-LGPL3), and put together the htmLawed download as htmLawed1112.zip, at http://www.bioinformatics.org//phplabware/downloads/htmLawed1112.zip. Note that there is a new htmLawed release (version 1.1.12).

I will start keeping such a download for the latest htmLawed version, which will remain available at  http://www.bioinformatics.org//phplabware/downloads/htmLawed.zip.

Also, I have clarified, wherever it wasn't clear, that the licensing is LGPL3 and GPL2+ (GPL version 2 or later).

Re: htmLawed - minor request from a packager

Great thanks for all this changes.

Good  news : php-htmLawed is approved and will be soon (after testing stage) available in Fedora >= 16 and EPEL >= 5 repository.

So, RPM users which need this library just have to run

yum install php-htmLawed

See, p.e.  php-htmLawed-1.1.12-1.el6 (https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/php-htmLawed-1.1.12-1.el6)

Also note that this library will also be used by other packages.
