[BiO BB] open source ideas

 For anyone interested, I am probably going to use QT after significant
research. it has great support for Linux, Win32, and OS X. Plus it is C++
which is what I prefer for this situation. The open-source license is pretty
palatable as well. It should prevent anyone from trying to make a slimy buck
off of this program.
