I believe "Thinking in Java" by Bruce Eckel should be a very good book for
someone with C background. It not only introduces you to Java but, also to
the OO paradigm. Also, this is a free electronic book available on the web at
http://www.mindview.net/Books/TIJ/.
Check it out. You might like it.
