[BiO BB] Parallel Blast

All,
I figured I would give you a reply. The full discussion thread
should be included below. Basically I Asked about a full MPI paralleled
version of the BLAST application. The only response I have received so far
is by the company MSC software that produces a package called MSC.LIFE. All
I know so far is what I have learned from the sales brochure and a quick
conversation with Dr. Landman. It appears that instead of a parallel
version of BLAST, MSC has produced a full parallel suite of software which
includes the BLAST application. Here is the webpage if you are interested.
http://www.mscsoftware.com/hpc/lifesciences/life.cfm . I am in the
unfortunate position of being a computer expert (use term loosely) trying
like sin to learn enough Genetics/Biology to effectively make decisions and
support the researchers in this field.

That's the short of it so far. If anyone has any comments or
questions give me a shout. Sometimes it's not a matter of what you know,
but who you know.
