[BiO BB] Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

Hi Par,

I've spent the last six months writing a LIMS system for the Floral
Genome Project at Penn State University. The project is an EST project
so my tables are broken down into organism, tissue, library, plate, and
clone. The web interface is written in Java (servlets & jsp) but I am
really interested in porting this to Perl/Bioperl/CGI. I have added
several additional features to the system including a plate-based blast
against the arabidopsis and rice genomes which generates summary blasts
results that are linked in from the LIMS system. Because we have many
universities working on this project, I have written the system as a
web interface which allows the user (at each university) to login and
then upload finished plates from the sequencing labs, view blast
results, add/edit/update information in the database, etc

Because we have several libraries already finished, I have moved on to
further downstream analysis and haven't had a chance to go back and
change and update a lot of the features of the LIMS system that I have
built. I would be very interested in helping you guys out. Please
contact me for further details.
