SwissProt has well organised synonym information for its proteins (protein
id to gene name).

Also seqhound has good interface to NCBI synonym data.

You can find both by googling.  You may get better replies from others on
the list, especially if you can give more detailed information about your
problem (i.e. do you have 10 or 10,000 genes to map? / What do you want to
retreive for each gene name?)
