No, its just two different names for the same idea.

Yes, there are lots of ideas. For example, some people say that highly
connected proteins are more likely to be essential, or evolve slower.
The 'guilt by association' method is a way to infer protein function
or structure from the known function or structure of its interacting
partners. There are lots of papers (sorry I didn't reference any
here).
