ID tables over past releases of Ensembl to see how may IDs were
created/terminated and it looked to be in the hundreds (but not thousands). I
thought it might be a one-time transient at Refseq. It still seems like a lot
to me given that we're now on the third or fourth 'final' release of the human
genome as you noted, and I'll start processing each new release to see what's
