Dear Colleagues,

The NEBC is pleased to announce, Bio-Linux Live on DVD!

Bio-Linux Live is a GNU/Linux distribution, based upon KNOPPIX, that runs entirely off the DVD (ie. no installation required). It is designed to be used for demonstration purposes and/or as a portable Bio-Linux system that emulates, as closely as possible, the experience of running Bio-Linux.

Bio-Linux Live is a great solution for working at home or anywhere you don't have access to bioinformatics applications like those on a Bio-Linux machine. As Live Linux systems run entirely in the memory of your machine, nothing is written to the hard disk, so results files should be saved to a memory stick or floppy disk before logging out.

Bio-Linux Live DVD will be available at the PG&P workshop in December for those attending, and further details can be found on our website at http://nebc.nox.ac.uk/live_dvd.html

Kind Regards
NEBC
