In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Hi, Thanks to the response from many in the community I have added sections about diskless clusters and information on 32-bit and 64-bit processors at the site I help run, www.ClusterBuilder.org.I also added a section called Ask the Cluster Expert for people to submit questions they have about cluster and grid computing. I post the questions and then research the answer as well as allow those knowledgeable in the community to submit a response to the question. I want to build a valuable knowledgebase of high performance computing information. I need you to share your knowledge by adding to the question responses and also submitting questions/answers to common problems you've experienced in the past and are experiencing now. A sample question could be about what benefits certain software gives to scientific cluster environments. Thanks, Nick -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It has come to our attention that there are a few minor security flaws in the current Bio-Linux system which have been addressed in the attached security script. We would advise that you take some time in the near future to run the script on each of the Bio-Linux machines in your charge. To apply the script: 1. Save the attachment as "securityupdate.tar.gz" 2. Untar/gunzip the attachment: $ tar zxf securityupdate.tar.gz 3. Run the script as sudo (or root): $ sudo ./securityupdate.sh In brief, the script will tighten the permissions on the /root directory and ensure that files previously sourced from /root are now sourced from the proper locations. If you have any questions or problems then please email the NEBC helpdesk .
