Hi,
Looks like there is a problem imaging Ubuntu 18.04 instances generally
on CyVerse Atmposphere, not just the problem with Bio-Linux 9-Alpha...
Sorry about that - I'll post a message here if/when we find a solution.
Meanwhile, I've created a public Ubuntu-MATE 16.04 + x2goserver image:

This is a step-up from the Bio-Linux 8 / Ubuntu 14.04 image, but I've
not pre-installed any bioinformatics packages. I will as a temporary
measure if we can't resolve the problems imaging Ubuntu-MATE 18.04.
