Hi, Andor.
This is a recent install of Bio-Linux 8 onto an "md" RAID1+RAID6 on my
workstation "polecat" (boot is on RAID1, everything else is on RAID6):

Bear in mind that you can upgrade a 'standard' Ubuntu 12.04 LTS to
Ubuntu 14.04 and Bio-Linux 8 in-place using Tim's upgrade script:
<A HREF="http://environmentalomics.org/bio-linux-installation/">http://environmentalomics.org/bio-linux-installation/</A>
Look for "Upgrading Bio-Linux 7 (or Ubuntu) to Bio-Linux 8"
I've done this upgrade on quite a few standard Ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04
systems as well as using the script to upgrade my Bio-Linux 7 systems.
HTH,
Tony.
