My question: 

1.What is the mechanics in NCBI BLAST to use the CPU source:by using
multi-thread or multi-process? My understanding is the BLAST use
multi-thread when -a calles more than one cpu.   

2. Since each process has a default memory allocation, we could not let a
single BLAST  running takes all the CPU resource, suppose we have a machine
which has enough system running resource and no other resource compete with
the BLAST process.  I am now planning to find a way to let the BLAST TAKE
ALL SYS RESOURCE. Do you have some good ideas?
