Due to the heat, I don't feel up to a full-on round of: * download eval versions of various compilers (again) * Tweak NCBI's build scripts and code to make the compilers work (again) * Notice odd performance issues, post to public lists, get slammed for not knowing that the --MAwful_Performance_On_Opteron flag defaults to "true". I was wondering if anyone else had gone through that routine already. Sounds like Joe has, so I'll be freeloading on his efforts. -Chris Dwan On Jun 20, 2006, at 10:37 AM, Paul Guermonprez wrote: > hi, > > as a vendor official spammer (expected yes ?), i've heard that > amd is counting on gcc to have optimized binaries > for opteron, so you can always download a free evaluation > of intel compiler, giving good results with opteron > as far as i know. > > paul. > > > On 6/19/06, Christopher Dwan <cdwan at bioteam.net> wrote: >> >> Does anyone (Joe Landman?) have an optimized NCBI blastall binary for >> Linux on Opteron available online somewhere?
