Ah yes, that committee thing is predicated on the assumption
that we'd be deluged with membership applications. Designing
with such a big group would be unwieldy...  

Another assumption is that while the group may be small, not
all would presumably be interested in design work, so the 
set of people who are interested, that's the committee...
