Hello,

the example files in src/simple_test are indeed obsolete!
But now I updated and tested them and here they now are in bioinformatics.org subversion (svn) repository:

Please do not use the cvs repository anymore (I don't use it either).
The updated examples now have the vital 

libghemical_init();

call in the beginning, and that's how you can verify that you have got an updated version.
