Protein Explorer 2.45 Beta, compatible with Netscape 7, Mozilla and
Firefox, is now released and freely downloadable from
http://www.proteinexplorer.org. Registration is no longer asked of
downloaders. For faculty whose IT support groups refuse to install Netscape
4.8 on campus computer lab systems (including mine), Netscape 7 should
provide an attractive solution.

The newly compatible browsers affect WINDOWS users ONLY. (Since Chime is
available only for Classic on Macs, OS X users will continue to depend on
Netscape 4.8 in Classic for PE. That combination works extremely well.)

Note that you must install Chime manually. Instructions doing this, and for
managing the popup blockers in each browser should appear automatically
when needed.

Again my heartfelt thanks to Enrique Castro who solved the key
compatibility issues and inspired me to do this, building on his insights!

Other enhancements in this version:
  - Translation to French of PE 1.982 by Herve Furstoss
  - More options for Contact-Decorated Surfaces in QuickViews
  - Automatic report of hydrogen atoms as % of all atoms, with guidelines
(in Features of the Molecule).
  - Improved compatibility with Windows XP Service Pack 2.
  - Updated the list of PDB mirror servers which PE can be configured to
download from in its Preference settings.
  - Added links to ten new sites to the list of Protein Structure
Bioinformatics Servers (under About Proteins on the FrontDoor)
