Protein Explorer (PE) (http://proteinexplorer.org) does not operate in Internet Explorer 7. If you plan to use Protein Explorer, don't hesitate to upgrade to Internet Explorer 7 as long as you can also plan to use Firefox (http://getfirefox.com) for Protein Explorer. In summary: - Firefox supports all of PE' capabilities. - Internet Explorer 6 does not support PE's "Features of the Molecule", nor the development of MolSlides, but most of PE works fine in IE6. - Internet Explorer 7 does not work with PE at all. The current version of PE (2.79 Beta) fails to start in IE7, ungracefully. Unless I find a workaround (seems unlikely now) the next release of PE will "gracefully" (explicitly) refuse to start in IE7. -Eric /* - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Eric Martz, Professor Emeritus, Dept Microbiology U Mass, Amherst -- http://www.umass.edu/molvis/martz Biochem 3D Education Resources http://MolviZ.org See 3D Molecules, Install Nothing! - http://firstglance.jmol.org Protein Explorer - 3D Visualization: http://proteinexplorer.org Workshops: http://workshops.proteinexplorer.org World Index of Molecular Visualization Resources: http://molvisindex.org ConSurf - Find Conserved Patches in Proteins: http://consurf.tau.ac.il Atlas of Macromolecules: http://atlas.proteinexplorer.org PDB Lite Macromolecule Finder: http://pdblite.org Molecular Visualization EMail List (molvis-list): http://bioinformatics.org/mailman/listinfo/molvis-list - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - */
