There was a discussion on the jmol listserv about how you needed to get the latest version of jave (maybe a beta version) in order to get jmol to work.

Subject: [Molvis-list] Jmol and chrome
Has anyone played with Google's Chrome browser. It doesn't seem to work
with jmol. It won't download the jmol applet and says that "no plugin is
available to display the content", but there doesn't seem to be any
option to turn java on or off within the browser.
