I also want to give everyone a "heads up" on a plan of mine for Pied.  I
didn't want to mention it before since Peep didn't exist and things were too
chaotic.  Well, things aren't much better now, but maybe we could implement it
sooner (before the CVS import) rather than later (0.0.2 or 0.0.3).

"Get on with it", you say.  Okay, in the spirit of making the main
distribution simpler and requiring less dependencies, I think Pied should be
distributed separately: separate CVS module and tarball.  You may have thought
that my argument to remove Gnome dependencies from the core was flawed if we
were to keep Pied (a Gnome application) in with the core.  Thus, you may have
seen this coming.

The question is how to implement it...and when.  Of course, Brad is designing
the install scheme to handle additional UI's.  I don't know if it is ready
yet, but Pied would be one of those additional UI's.  Peep is the default.

And not to put pressure on Deanne, but this can't be done until Peep is as
functional as Pied is now.
