Ooops, it wasn't very happy with me trying to connect:

$ export CVS_RSH='ssh'
$ export CVSROOT=':ext:chapmanb at alpha.bioinformatics.org:/cvsroot'
$ cvs checkout piper

cvs server: failed to create lock directory in repository 
`/cvsroot/piper': Permission denied

Not sure what the problem is. Any thoughts?
