How to download HAPMAP data and convert into Haploview format by SNP tools
0. Start HapMart in the hompae of HapMap:
1. Select the population and click next. Set you filter in the second page and click next. In the following page, select items as following option settings:
2. Save as a file, remember the path and file name
3. Open your downloaded file in Excel
4. Change the worksheet name "Ensembl Data" into "EnsemblData" or any others as you like, by double-click it. The most important thing is to delete the space in the sheet name. The VBA will not accept any name including space or some other special letters.
Then click the menu of Convert HapMap to Haploview
5. The dialogue window appears
6. Click the underline button at the end right part of SNP source to select data area. In the lite version just enter the data range by keyboard.
7. Spcecify the info and ped files. In the lite version, you can only enter your data address and file names by keybord.
8. Then the "Convert" button will be enabled, click it.
9. The "HAPLOVIEW" button will be enabled when info and ped files were created.
10. Haploview will be automatically open with the info and ped files as arguments by clicking the button. (in some cases, you may have to run Haploview by yourself)
